Reading for Fun: What drama! What adventure! Oh, there is no pleasure equal to that of reading the miracle of the novel-to experience such joys and sorrows at the hands of a paperback is truly one of the great pleasures this life has to offer. If I could do nothing but read for the rest of my life, truly, I would be content.
Reading for Class: I DON'T CARE ABOUT THESE WORDS!
BUT WHY? WHY DO TEENS LOVE READING OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM AND NOT IN? So in my Adolescent Literacy class, we spend our whole quarter trying to answer this question.
I'm still like this in college. When I'm reading for a class, there's a deadline so it doesn't feel "free." That's my take on it.

“And yet a woman’s weight is seen by American culture as an outward manifestation...”
– Everybody, Every Body: the Media’s Erasure of Fat Girls  this is a really articulate way of describing why despite being a cisgendered woman with 100% cisgender privilege, I still have extreme issues with seeing myself as a woman. (via ladiebear)

Classism and Veganism
youarenotyou: stfuconfederates: Deaf Aspie: Challenge to Vegans: deaf-aspie: violetbelle: deaf-aspie: violetbelle: deaf-aspie: Make me a vegan diet plan for 2 weeks. And if I like it, I’ll actually try it. But it’s not so simple. See, I’m poor. And by poor, I mean, your meal plan can’t cost me more than $30 for 2 weeks (and I mean not a cent more). And I live in the northeast by...

Re: This is why society sucks loveandotherhumanrights: lukeiamyournigga: I HATE when girls act like they get pressured to look a certain way, when guys are really the ones that have to look one way. Guys like girls that look all different kind of ways. But typically the good looking guy looks ONE way. Tall dark and handsome. Everyone wants to be tan, tall, and muscular. That is what men...
