Reading for Fun: What drama! What adventure! Oh, there is no pleasure equal to that of reading the miracle of the novel-to experience such joys and sorrows at the hands of a paperback is truly one of the great pleasures this life has to offer. If I could do nothing but read for the rest of my life, truly, I would be content.
Reading for Class: I DON'T CARE ABOUT THESE WORDS!
BUT WHY? WHY DO TEENS LOVE READING OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM AND NOT IN? So in my Adolescent Literacy class, we spend our whole quarter trying to answer this question.
I'm still like this in college. When I'm reading for a class, there's a deadline so it doesn't feel "free." That's my take on it.

this is a really articulate way of describing why despite being a cisgendered woman with 100% cisgender privilege, I still have extreme issues with seeing myself as a woman.
